Soul Stirring Revival

Let’s just face it… We’ve been through a lot in the past 18+ months. COVID has devastated many businesses. It has claimed the lives of many of our friends and loved ones and it has caused an even greater division in our country than we already had.

It has been a rough time and we have suffered grievous  losses. But I believe one of the greatest losses we have suffered is the unfortunate loss of our ability to meet in the house of God for worship.

We are not going to address whether we should or should not continue to gather for corporate worship in this post. I feel that decision should be made on a case-by-case basis according to the particular chemistry of each individual church. Each church should make their own decision that suits their needs best. They should prayerfully consider their course of action and follow God’s direction for their church. End of discussion.

Nonetheless, the fact that Christians have been at the very least limited as to the amount of time they are able to spend in corporate worship is having an affect on the Church. It has caused many to get “out of the habit” of attending and has caused some to completely turn away from church in general. This, I feel, is only one of the key maneuvers that Satan has used to cause turmoil in our churches as of late. He is literally stoking the fire daily with new pieces of cheap timber to keep the flames of division  ablaze.

As I mentioned earlier, our country is divided like never before. The issue is no longer just racial, regional or political. Now it is also amongst the Church. In the past our country has at least found common ground in God’s house, but now Satan has found a way to cause division amongst even the most devoted church members. Our news media as well as our government have gone to great lengths to fuel this divisive fire and we as Christians have brought the marshmallows and weenies to roast. Today the greatest battle the average churchgoer has is with their fellow church members.

We used to bicker over the color of the new carpet or whether we should have our baptismal services in the creek or behind the pulpit. Now we are arguing over more unbelievable things. Things so non-important that it surely makes Satan snicker just to listen in for a moment. We constantly and consistently allow these things to create a rift between us and our brothers and sisters in Christ, but why? Why are we so eager to find fault with our fellow brothers and sisters?

What has happened to the Church? Why are we constantly in battle with each other? How have we arrived at a point that we are willing to sacrifice the relationships that we have with fellow Christians just so we can be right? The answer? For many years the Church has lost it’s vision and purpose. We have taken our focus off of Jesus and we are now focused on what we want rather than what God wants for us. We are driven more by earthly goals and measures of success than we are Heavenly goals and it has had an affect not only on the Church, but on the world that we are called to reach as well.

You see whether we realize it or not the world still loosely uses the Church as a moral compass - it is not only a guide for our conscience, but theirs as well. Our behavior has caused the world to disregard the teachings and the “moral code of conduct” that the Church has held as the standard for generations. We have failed to exhibit the importance of holiness, purity and reverence to the house of God - love and kindness to our fellow man. We are about self accomplishment and self gratification instead of glorifying God.

Our standards, the Church standards, must be brought back not to the level of value that our grandparents considered appropriate, not even the level their grandparents considered appropriate, but the level that God sees as appropriate. This can’t happen unless we turn from our wicked ways, seek God’s face and confess our sins. At that point God will heal our land.

“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” 2 Chronicles 7:14

This will not happen without a change in the hearts and minds of God’s people. A complete surrender to God that sparks a revival across our land. A soul stirring revival. The Bible speaks of a revival that will sweep across the land in the last days. True revival that doesn’t just last a couple of days or a weekend or even a week, but a permanent revival that causes sinners to come to our churches to see what all the commotion is about. A return to what is holy and a  distancing from sin.

“And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams: And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy: And I will shew wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath; blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke: The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before that great and notable day of the Lord come: And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Acts‬ ‭2:17-21‬ ‭

Are you and your house prepared for revival? Do you long for true, life changing, soul stirring, heaven sent revival that causes lives to change, souls to be saved and burdens to be lifted? Have you been craving a heavenly anointing that only God gives out? I believe it is time for a true Soul Stirring Revival. Are you ready? It starts with you and me. Not at our church, but in our hearts. A restoration of God’s conviction in our lives that causes us to truly live for Him.

Let’s pray for a SOUL STIRRING REVIVAL!!

Wilt thou revive us again: that thy people may rejoice in thee? Psalm 85:6
